SASO Mandates Supplier Information and Commercial Registration Number on Product Labels
Pursuant to the latest notice issued by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), and in accordance with the Saudi Product Safety Law and its implementing regulations, SASO formally requires that all products exported to the Saudi market must display the following two pieces of information on their labels:
? Supplier Name (Importer or Local Manufacturer) ? Commercial Registration Number Products that do not comply with the labeling requirements
will be unable to obtain a Certificate of Conformity, and thus
cannot enter the Saudi market through the SABER platform
SASO stated that it will conduct random sampling and review of technical documents for relevant products through the SABER electronic platform, to ensure that Certification Bodies (CBs) and suppliers strictly comply with the new regulations. Certification Bodies or suppliers that fail to comply will be penalized in accordance with the Product Safety Law and its implementing regulations.
